Manifestation of the World

BY DR SURINDER SINGH SURI *

Human mind is working around the clock while being awake or in a dream.  Deep sleep is a gift to blessed ones.  A stage comes in a man’s life when he questions himself who am I? From where have I come? What for I have come? Where I am heading for? What

are the essential of the science of sciences, the science of life, with all its subtleties for the all-round enlistment of the individual and the masses? How can I achieve a peace of mind? How the world was created? Who is the creator of this world? And what were the conditions before this world was created?

To find answers to all these questions, one should study Vivekananda, Upanishads (even the shastras), Gita, Shankaracharya (and even Ramanujacharya), the inspiring verses of saints of India particularly the Adi Granth (called by the Sikh community of Punjab as Sri Guru Granth Sahib) containing divine-revelations through Hindu and Muslim sages alike, and the all-round genius, the mighty and the boldest, and the most elevated of this time, who represented in him all that is divine and spiritual Wisdom, human love and material might, with the most charming combination of “Spirit, intellect, emotion and muscle”; the last of heroes of this soil, as declared by no less than the modern prophet Vivekananda himself who pointed to him as the Ideal  to be followed by the Hindus (Indians) (and of course also by the rest of the humanity), and whom Swami Ramatirtha in America, just after Swami Vivekananda, presented as the Ideal “Teacher among the teacher of mankind” GuruGobind Singh”!

Looking into science, there is no such thing as “Scientific Creationism” in the professional literature of science.  It exists only in the house publications of creationist organizations, and what appears in such places is empty of evidence, intellectual reasoning or persuasive argument.  Since the survey was of submissions, not of acceptances, creationists cannot claim that science journals are biased against them.  It is clear that the creationists have nothing of scientific value to submit.

The riddle of how the world came to be in the first place is a central problem for all mythologies.  Sometimes the beginning of all things is described as a total emptiness or void, or alternatively as a limitless expanse of water, an undifferentiated waste clothed in darkness – an idea common to the mythical narratives of the Middle East, the Khoisan peoples of southern Africa and many traditions of North America and Southeast Asia.  However, the most widely distributed creation image depicts the primal universe in the form of an egg, containing the potentiality of everything within it all-enveloping shell.
