Tabu teams up with M F Hussain
Undaunted by the failure of his first film - Gaj Gamini - at the box office, M. F. Hussain, the top notch Indian painter, is all set to work on his new film.
Do
Kadam Chal Ke Dekho is the next film for which Hussain has
completed the script. Shooting begins in March this year and will be shot
mostly in Rajasthan and Czechoslovakia.
And then when the screen testing was on for the next girl, Hussain found the right girl -Tabu - down to earth actress and sexy.
Rahul Khanna is playing the lead role.
Talking about his film, M. F. Hussain said, "There's a boy of Hyderabad and a princess of Jaisalmer. The second girl is in Prague who's a blacksmith. Both the characters will be played by Tabu, and there's no relationship between the two characters. It’s not like an old Hindi film where people get lost in childhood and meet again later. There's nothing like that. Its a natural phenomena like U get to meet identical things in life."
After wooing critics and audiences with her fine performance in Madhur Bhandarkar's Chandni Bar, M.F.Hussain's film will be another chance for the actress to get her teeth into a meaty role. "They have offered me every kind of role, from vamps to prostitutes, to bar girls, to army officers, to mothers, to mothers in law and middle class housewives, to college girls, to somebody's mother... everything. So I think there's a good feeling I get where I feel when I realise that I've been offered such varied roles, so I have the luxury of selecting and choosing."
